  • Rising grocery, utility and tax costs are straining family budgets statewide, and Connecticut Foodshare said its 600 pantries and 110 mobile sites have seen demand jump from 50% to nearly double. The organization reported that emergency state funds of $1.5 million per week are helping restock shelves—while federal SNAP funds remain delayed, keeping efforts in crisis mode.  NBC Connecticut

  • SNAP funds have been loaded onto the EBT cards of 366,000 people in Connecticut, and Governor Lamont says no further steps are needed. SPORTS NEWS

  • UConn players Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd scored a combined 85 points in 120 minutes across two games as they led the team to a 99 to 67 win over Florida State (the team is entering a post-Paige era). Coach Auriemma said the duo will drive the Huskies' play as they prepare to host Loyola Chicago and play Ohio State.  Connecticut Post
  • UConn football stunned Duke 37-34 Saturday at Rentschler Field when a late fumble recovery with 18 seconds left rallied the Huskies in front of their largest home crowd since 2013—one of the biggest wins in program history. Strong plays from quarterback Joe Fagnano and record-setting receiver Skyler Bell helped turn the game in UConn’s favor.  FOX61
  • The UConn Women’s Basketball Team celebrated its NCAA banner unveiling on Sunday at Gampel Pavilion — they won 99 to 67 over Florida State — in front of a sold-out crowd.   • Last week, high school football games in Connecticut showcased top performers as players from Plainville, Brookfield, Seymour, and others made key touchdown plays and record-breaking runs—raising the excitement at each contest.   • Over 1,000 participants ran and walked in Storrs for the Husky Run and Ruck Salute to Service on Sunday; the event—produced by the Hartford Marathon Foundation and supported by UConn Recreation—featured 10K and 5K races that raised $45,000 for military and veteran student scholarships and the Kyle Milliken Fund.
