Connecticut schools have opened registration for a free 6-week Paraeducator Preparation Academy that will train 200 to 250 new paraeducators in its first year; a pilot course in East Hartford will run through August and September.

Twenty-six high school students attended Quinnipiac University’s Medical Microbiology Camp in Hamden, where they learned infectious disease research with lab work + field sampling. The camp, led by Robert Cottrell, aimed to spark interest in medicine amid concerns over a future doctor shortage.

West Hartford Summer Arts Festival presents 'Guys and Dolls' at Hall High School + 975 North Main Street from July 23 through 26. The musical features a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. and evening shows at 7 p.m. today and Saturday, directed by Sara Avery during the festival’s 50th season.
