Ben Bronz Academy (a private school serving students in need of extra support) held its graduation and awards ceremony on Thursday, June 18 at Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford, with nine students earning their diplomas and several receiving academic awards.

Marina Mabrey scored 37 points — including 21 in the fourth quarter — to help the Toronto Tempo beat the Connecticut Sun 101-97 Friday night at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Sun, now 2-15, will host the Chicago Sky Monday night as they try to end a seven-game losing streak.
Kobe Dominguez, a local swimmer from Hall High School and Southern, completed his first year as head coach of the JCC Sharks in West Hartford. His team welcomed 38 new swimmers and set 29 team records this summer (he now seeks swimmers age 6 and up).
