- ➤ From Oct. 23 to Oct. 25, Conard High School put on the play 'Good Kids' at its Black Box Theater to explore tough topics like sexual assault, victim blaming, and the bystander effect after a high school party. - ➤ Connecticut Foodshare warned that over 300,000 families may face trouble getting SNAP benefits as the government shutdown delays help—community groups are stepping in to provide support until assistance is restored. WFSB-TV

- ➤ Manchester Road Race organizers said runners who want mailed bibs must sign up by October 31st with a $20 mailing fee — in-person pickup is available in November. The 89th race will take place on Thanksgiving Day at 10 a.m. with a $37 fee until November 22nd then $42 afterward — over 6,600 runners have registered as of today and unallocated proceeds will support Connecticut Foodshare and MACC Charities. - ➤ Central Connecticut State men's basketball team is rebuilding under coach Patrick Sellers after losing its top players, and the Blue Devils aim to extend their 20-win streak by winning the conference tournament to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. - ➤ The UConn Huskies beat Southern Connecticut 105-39 in their final exhibition game as Azzi Fudd scored 21 points and made five 3-pointers — a strong show that helped five Huskies score in double figures.
