  • Connecticut’s largest Halloween trick-or-treat event will take place today at Dunkin’ Park from noon to 3 p.m.—children 12 and younger can join in, enjoy Halloween activities, and receive candy and swag from over 50 local businesses as they enter through the main gate at Main and Trumbull.  FOX61

  • Hartford City Hall served as the site where Conscience Castillo filmed a hip-hop music video with Peedi Crakk, as Castillo chose the venue for its unique official look + he already has over 100,000 YouTube subscribers.  WTIC

FINANCE NEWS

  • A Mega Millions ticket sold at Stop & Shop on 44 Lake Avenue Ext. in Danbury won $2 million in Friday’s drawing after the 2X Megaplier doubled its prize from $1 million. The unclaimed ticket matched all five numbers without the Mega Ball and was the top winning prize in Connecticut and the nation.  FOX61

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Connecticut officials are reworking energy plans as federal policy cuts tax credits and delays offshore wind projects—raising uncertainty about future energy costs. The state has invited proposals for solar and onshore wind projects and will prepare a new ten-year resource plan to guide clean energy efforts.  CT Mirror
  • Connecticut settled with online clothing retailer TFG Holding for $1M over deceptive advertising practices—enrolling customers in a VIP Membership Program with hard-to-cancel, monthly fees. The settlement requires the company to clearly explain membership details and quickly process cancellations—changes meant to protect consumers.  FOX61

HEALTH NEWS

  • Wethersfield Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration hosted a local drug take-back event last Saturday where residents safely disposed of unwanted prescription drugs — including tablets, capsules, and patches—to support a national effort against medication misuse.  WTNH News 8

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Friday night, the Hartford Wolf Pack lost 3-0 to the Bridgeport Islanders at PeoplesBank Arena after the Islanders scored three goals early in the game—Joey Larson and Sean Day led the scoring that dropped the Wolf Pack to a 1-4 record, and they are set to host the Charlotte Checkers on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.  WFSB-TV
  • In Week 7 of high school football, New Canaan defeated Greenwich on October 24th with strong defensive plays — a fumble recovery and a goal-line interception led the win. Cheshire and Woodland also picked up key victories while several teams suffered their first losses this week.  Connecticut Post
  • Sacred Heart men’s basketball coach Anthony Latina said his team has built a strong roster for the upcoming MAAC season with redshirt senior forward Anquan Hill (a preseason first-team honoree) and sophomore guards Mehki Conner and Nyle Ralph-Beyer receiving second- and third-team honors. He said the mix of experienced players, freshmen, and transfers is expected to add depth for close league games (a strategy designed to boost chemistry).  Connecticut Post
  • Hall High School boys soccer team beat unbeaten Farmington on Oct 25 after a penalty kick shootout—Rodrigo Ballesteros and Marco Leonidas led the win. They will face Tolland Tuesday night at Sage Park in Berlin at 7 p.m. for the CCC final.  We-Ha
  • Connecticut native Alyssa Naeher—gold medal goalkeeper—hosted a Q&A at SCSU where she offered advice to local soccer players. She will be honored today during the U.S. Women’s National game against Portugal at Whitney and Pratt Stadium in East Hartford.  NBC Connecticut
