- ➤ Officials with PosiGen solar company announced it will delay laying off dozens of employees until early October after receiving extra funding from its lenders. The company originally planned layoffs from Aug. 31 to Sept. 13 but will now terminate workers between Sept. 21 and Oct. 4 — with facilities in Shelton, Danbury and Wethersfield set to close. - ➤ The 10th annual Mexican Independence Day celebration took place at the State Capitol in Hartford on September 16—where Carlos Iriarte Mercado from the Consulate General of Mexico in Boston performed el Grito de Dolores—to mark 215 years since the call for independence. - ➤ Grammy Award-winning Cardi B will perform in Hartford this spring as part of her Little Miss Drama Tour—her first headline arena run—with a stop at People’s Bank Arena on Friday, April 3. Ticket presales begin Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. via Citi and Verizon while the general sale starts on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. as her second album Am I The Drama? drops on Friday. WTNH News 8

- ➤ At a Tuesday evening celebration at City Hall in Hartford, the Board of Education renamed Classical Magnet School to Hernán LaFontaine Classical Magnet School to honor the city’s first Puerto Rican superintendent. LaFontaine—who served for 12 years and will be the godfather of the Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Parade on Sunday—was honored as a pioneer in education. WTNH News 8

- ➤ Connecticut officials announced a new policy that bans law enforcement officers from wearing masks in state courthouses (unless medically necessary) after an ICE incident in Stamford led to protests and arrests; Gov. - ➤ With the school year underway and Suicide Prevention Month in full swing, urgent crisis centers in Hartford, Waterbury, New Haven, and New London offer quicker, calmer care for children at risk since emergency rooms often have long waits. State officials and advocates warn that as federal relief funds run out, these centers struggle to meet growing demand—calling for new funding streams and better insurance reimbursement to keep services running. - ➤ Gov. Ned Lamont and 17 other state leaders are urging Congress to extend enhanced premium tax credits—subsidies that help CT residents afford insurance, with failure to extend costing the state over $295M annually and driving up premiums for many families. CT Mirror
