- ➤ COMPASS Youth Collaborative in Hartford is reducing violent behavior among local youth by connecting them with peacebuilders—79% of participants reduced risky behavior over nine months while many gained jobs and built stronger relationships. - ➤ Hartford community gathered at the Police Academy to remember Detective Bobby Garten, who was killed on September 6 by a fleeing suspect during a traffic stop, as officers and his family paid tribute to his legacy. The second annual Detective Bobby Garten Memorial Fund Fundraiser will be held on September 14 at Elicity Brewing to raise funds for causes he supported + show ongoing support for his grieving family. - ➤ A Stamford man, identified as Jeffrey Lauture, led police on a pursuit when his black Nissan Frontier drove erratically from Massachusetts into Vernon at about 8:10 p.m. on Thursday — troopers used stop sticks to stop his truck and found an illegal gun with ammunition, leading to charges of reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit, evading responsibility, and illegal possession in a motor vehicle.
