ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Saunti Reynolds, age 2, died after choking on a meatball at a New Britain day care that had been cited for safety violations — including poor staff supervision — and state agencies with local police are investigating the incident while a YWCA spokesperson confirmed staff followed emergency procedures as the family seeks answers. - ➤ Theodore Lloyd, 27, is accused of killing his 70-year-old mother, cutting up her body and trying to set their West Haven home on fire after living with her remains for over two months, with police finding body parts in trash bags on March 24 — he bought tools in January to plan the act — and he faces charges of murder, tampering with evidence and attempted arson while held on a $3 million bond with a Sept. 23 court date. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The State Bond Commission approved $4.7 million for flood relief programs to help Hartford homeowners repair damage from repeated flooding. The funds will support 139 pending applications submitted before last December—aiming to ease ongoing repair needs. FOX61
- ➤ State officials approved $155 million in bonding to lower electricity bills—using $125 million for unpaid pandemic bills and $30 million to fund electric vehicle charging stations. Lower electricity rates approved on July 1 saved customers about $10 per month. NBC Connecticut
