- ➤ Ray Moreau died in Plainville when a part from a fire truck struck him — State Police and OSHA are investigating the accident as questions remain about the daily checks and state-mandated annual inspections that keep fire equipment secure. WFSB-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Attorney General William Tong filed a lawsuit in Hartford against MAKECTBETTER LLC, Michael Tedesco and Zafir Iqbal—accusing them of a fraudulent cannabis license scheme that involved forged documents and payments from up to 70 businesses in New Milford, New Haven and Manchester—and he is asking the court to freeze their assets. - ➤ An AFL-CIO report found that 14 Connecticut S&P 500 CEOs earned an average of $19.5 million while the median worker made $58,400, showing a 334-to-1 gap. The report said CEO pay increased 7% in 2024—outpacing a 3% rise for workers—and that new tax cuts may widen the gap further. CT Mirror
