ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters responded at 2:10 p.m. today to a fire at an apartment building on Webster Street that injured one firefighter and displaced 14 residents—while the building sustained water damage and the American Red Cross helped those affected—as the fire marshal’s office investigates the incident. - ➤ A family was impacted by an apartment fire on Saturday in Hartford (officials have not released further details) and emergency personnel are reviewing the situation (more updates are expected soon). WFSB-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Nickholas Dizon, a 26-year-old from Manchester, was charged with multiple counts including Public Indecency after exposing himself at Center Springs Park around 9:30 a.m. and again near Hungry Tiger Café at 4:30 p.m.—he is held on a $250,000 bond with arraignment scheduled at Manchester Superior Court on Monday. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The State Bond Commission in Hartford will vote at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 1 to decide if $155 million in bond funding can lower public benefits charges on electric bills. Gov. Ned Lamont—chairing the commission—said the move may save customers about $10 a month starting this September and that additional reductions are planned through early 2027. FOX61
