ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Two people died and four others were injured when a Hyundai hit the back of a Subaru that left the road and struck a Toyota on Route 16 in Colchester on Sunday at 4:15 p.m.—the Toyota driver died at the scene while a pregnant passenger, the Hyundai passenger, and the Subaru driver and passenger were taken to Hartford Hospital, state police said. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Victims of a Farmington home invasion during a hot tub session with an exotic dancer testified Monday in Hartford as part of the joint trial of Joshua Jenkins and Branden Holloway, with police stating the victims were bruised, bloody, and marked with ligatures after their escape in September 2022. - ➤ Jose Morales was sentenced Monday for the 2019 murder of his girlfriend Christine Holloway in Ansonia—her aunt addressed the court during the hearing. WFSB-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Connecticut and 25 other states filed a lawsuit Monday to force the federal government to release $6.8 billion in education funds, including $53.6 million for local districts for teacher development & classroom programs for the 2025-26 school year.
