- ➤ The Hartford Summer Night Gyms program began Monday, offering children four hours of sports, arts and crafts at four high schools—Weaver, Achievement First, Naylor, and Sport and Medical Sciences. City officials and coaches say the program will provide a safe space for over 1,000 kids while their parents work late. WTNH News 8

- ➤ Hartford police are asking the public for help finding a missing 16-year-old girl who was last seen on Saturday — she is 5 feet 2 inches tall with brown eyes and wore a beige T-shirt, dark gray jogger pants, and gray sneakers. WFSB-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Bruce Shay from Pomfret worries that the proposed $1 trillion Medicaid cut will force hospitals like Day Kimball to face closures, which could leave residents with hour-long trips for emergency care — a concern shared by officials who say that even a $50 billion rural hospital fund will not cover deep revenue gaps. Local and national experts say the cuts will hit already fragile rural hospitals hard, putting added pressure on communities in need. Connecticut Public
- ➤ On July 1, Connecticut’s diesel fuel tax dropped 3.5 cents per gallon from 52.4 to 48.9 cents to help lower operating costs for truckers + officials say this cut may ease prices on groceries, clothing and medications since most goods are delivered by trucks. CT Mirror
