ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 21, 2023 at 1:10 a.m., Katherine Colon was fatally struck by a speeding police SUV in New Britain—she was crossing West Main Street—while her family held a community cookout to honor her memory and call for justice. FOX61
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Connecticut lawmakers made changes to an old towing law after drivers said high fees and fast tows hurt them. The new law will take effect Oct. 1 and gives drivers more time to fix parking mistakes — it does not solve all the problems raised by affected drivers. CT Mirror
- ➤ Connecticut firms spent more than $28.4 million lobbying state lawmakers and agencies in the first quarter of 2025. Major groups, including hospitals, energy companies, banks, realtors and local governments — led by the Connecticut Hospital Association’s $1.45 million spending — drove a record push to shape state decisions.
