- ➤ Hartford Athletic hosted its first Summer Reading Sundays event on Sunday to boost reading and soccer practice among local children and families. - ➤ Katherine Colon was struck and killed in September 2023 by a New Britain police cruiser while she crossed West Main Street, and her family held a community cookout at Central Park—despite a permit dispute—to honor her on her birthday and demand accountability even though a state's attorney report partially blamed her and cleared the officer. - ➤ The State Senate approved SB 4 — which will cut $100 per year from electric bills by lowering public benefits charges — in a 34 to one vote aimed at reducing high rates.
