- ➤ Raising Cane’s will open in Wethersfield next week at 1298 Silas Dean Highway on Tuesday, June 24, where customers can enjoy chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Cane’s Toast, coleslaw, and Cane’s Sauce. The restaurant will feature a double-lane drive-thru and an outdoor dining patio — it will also hold a 'Lucky 20' drawing with entries from 8 to 9 a.m. that awards free Cane’s for a year to 20 customers. - ➤ A new guide lists summer fireworks shows across Connecticut with times, locations, and rain dates provided for towns including Hartford and Milford. The guide covers events from June 21 through Sept. 6 and highlights displays at places like Hartford Yard Goats games + local parks. WFSB-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ More than six dozen new CT laws will take effect on July 1, including the biennial state budget that raises social services funding and a $9.7 billion bond package to finance schools, transportation, and other capital projects. - ➤ A group of 24 Hartford golfers played 100 holes in one day at Keney Park on Tuesday to raise funds for ALS (a disease that affected the organizers' fathers) in a challenge started two years ago by Alex Litt and Cory Sullivan. They had raised $550,000 before and aimed to add $450,000 that day to hit the $1 million mark, with ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky joining the event. NBC Connecticut
