  • On June 14, more than 10,000 people gathered on the State Capitol’s south lawn for the No Kings rally—part of national demonstrations organized by the 50501 Movement and Indivisible. Speakers including Nadia Sims and state lawmakers decried rising authoritarianism and political violence while Capitol police reported no arrests or injuries.  CT News Junkie

HEALTH NEWS

  • UConn medical students James Marks and Zach Giguere began a 48-day cross-country bike ride on June 10 from Seattle—raising funds and awareness for suicide prevention and mental health research via the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Marks, who lost his dad to suicide in 2022, and Giguere, noting increased mental health struggles after COVID, plan to complete their journey to support critical research.  WTIC
