- ➤ Local businesses are preparing for the fourth Hartford Taste festival, which starts at noon Friday downtown and lasts two days. - ➤ The Big E announced free concerts and variety performances on the Court of Honor Stage during the fair from September 12 to 28. - ➤ Today, Connecticut’s legislative session wraps up as hundreds of bills face dying by midnight—Gov. Ned Lamont has signed 20 laws and lawmakers reached a $55.8 billion budget deal that boosts Medicaid, special education and child care. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Connecticut hospitals and community health centers warned that the new biennial budget, which includes a $375 million tax increase on hospitals, cuts to provider payments and no Medicaid reimbursement rate increases, will worsen the healthcare crisis as federal Medicaid cuts loom.
