  • Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam and local business owners launched the new Hartford Coffee Trail on Thursday to connect residents with 10 coffee shops where visitors can earn points using the Vibemap app (running from June 1 to Aug. 1).  WFSB-TV

  • Connecticut added 5,700 jobs in April, pushing its workforce to a record 1.72 million jobs while unemployment edged up to 5% as new workers joined the market. Construction reached an 18-year high (65,200 jobs) and manufacturing hit its peak since Oct. 2024 (154,700 jobs).  CT News Junkie

  • Connecticut communities will use a $37 million EPA grant — with $9.5 million for PFAS and $27.5 million for lead issues — to upgrade aging water systems and improve drinking water quality.  CT News Junkie

  • The U.S. Forest Service is considering closing two invasive insect labs in Hamden and Ansonia over the coming year as part of a national reorganization that will relocate staff to Warren, Pennsylvania.
