- ➤ A study by BPG Inspections found that 44% of people have experienced moving scams due to companies taking large deposits without showing up or charging unexpected extra fees. - ➤ Local advocates, parents, and providers gathered in Waterbury on Monday for the Day Without Childcare movement, urging state leaders to add $30 million to support struggling childcare programs and reduce costs. Rising childcare fees have forced some providers to take side jobs & risk care quality. FOX61

- ➤ Connecticut launched America 250 CT to mark the nation’s 250th birthday with hundreds of statewide events. Hartford will celebrate on July 4 with a recommitment ceremony at the State Capitol (featuring a public Declaration reading) and a bonanza at Bushnell Park. News 12 Connecticut

- ➤ Lawmakers passed a state budget that will boost school funding by 4% using a new formula that adds a $152 million increase and a $21 million DRACULA grant for town relief. A proposed ban on school cellphones was not approved, and new rules for homeschooling went forward. CT Mirror
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Attorneys general (including CT’s William Tong) sent a letter urging the FDA to keep strict e-cigarette flavor rules instead of easing approvals that could boost youth access. They warned that changing the rules may expand the market for unauthorized products used by teens. CT News Junkie
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Governor Ned Lamont met Tuesday at the State Capitol with mental health experts to mark Mental Health Awareness Month.
