- ➤ More than 3,000 Pratt & Whitney workers voted on Sunday morning to go on strike after contract talks failed—union officials said the picket line may continue if no new agreement is reached. WFSB-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Vernon man led troopers on a chase on Sunday after his Acura MDX was seen swerving on Route 2 East in East Hartford and later crashed on Interstate 91 in Rocky Hill — he surrendered while showing signs of impairment and now faces charges including reckless driving, engaging in pursuit, operating under the influence, assault on public safety personnel, and driving without a license — and he was held on a $50,000 bond with a court appearance scheduled for Monday. - ➤ On May 5, thousands of homeschool supporters and families gathered at the State Capitol in Hartford to protest further regulation of homeschooling. The protest came after the Office of the Child Advocate released a report showing Connecticut’s lax laws risk leaving children without proper education and safety checks — lawmakers and advocates remain divided on the proposed changes.
