- ➤ The Hartford Yard Goats announced that the G.O.A.T Card Show will return to Dunkin' Park on Aug. 9. The family-friendly event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature over 100 vendors offering trading cards, memorabilia, food truck + concessions. FOX61

- ➤ In 2025, Connecticut added 1,200 jobs but its unemployment rate rose to 4.5% as more jobseekers joined the workforce (January saw 5,300 new roles and steady weekly claims of about 30,000). CT News Junkie
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At a Board of Education meeting on Wednesday night, school officials said Hartford Public Schools faces a $22 million deficit and can make no additional cuts to protect students; a public hearing on the budget is scheduled for April 21. FOX61
- ➤ Hartford Public Schools Superintendent Andraé Townsel said the district will face a $74.5 million deficit over the next two years after rejecting the state’s surplus claim and officials will work on a new budget plan to address it. WFSB-TV

- ➤ UHart student Rene Lambert overcame cerebral palsy challenges to write her memoir 'Uphill Climb: Cerebral Palsy Adventures.' - ➤ Sen. Richard Blumenthal met with students and staff at Sport and Medical Science Academy on Wednesday to warn of sports gambling dangers (he supported restrictions on ads and AI tracking to curb the crisis he sees spreading in Connecticut). WFSB-TV
- ➤ Utility company Eversource opted out of three solar contracts on March 27, claiming they would cost customers $238 million over 20 years and lack value, and state officials are reviewing the decision — DEEP said the projects could save over $80 million in net bills over time. CT Mirror
- ➤ The Connecticut Airport Authority is advising passengers to arrive early and check parking during spring break travel at Bradley International Airport as more than 139,000 travelers are expected between April 8 and 19. - ➤ On Tuesday, healthcare providers & HUSKY 4 Immigrants delivered a letter at the state Capitol urging legislators to expand healthcare coverage for all residents regardless of immigration status amid federal funding cuts and proposed bills. CT Mirror
- ➤ Connecticut added three new case managers to its autism waiver program to speed up enrollment and serve more families—2,652 people are on the waiting list. The additional hires began work in February and are expected to help reduce wait times for home and community supports. CT Mirror
