- ➤ On April 4, the Hartt School Community Division hosted the 'Future Ready' leadership conference at the University of Hartford campus where students aged 10-18 learned skills in leadership, communication, and self-esteem. UHart President Lawrence P. Ward and the Boys and Girls Club CEO Bruce Jeffery joined the event, which is expected to return in 2026. University of Hartford
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced a campaign to fight distracted driving and reduce 5,318 crashes, eight deaths, and 787 injuries. The Distracted Driving Awareness and Enforcement Campaign will enforce laws later this month—urging drivers to put phones down while driving. WTNH News 8
- ➤ A report released Friday by nonprofits that help people coming back from prison found many suffer from drug problems, low schooling and unstable housing. The groups are asking the legislature for $1.5 million for operations and $3 million for job training—money they say could help people get jobs and avoid going back to prison. CT Mirror
