EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students from New Haven, Hartford and New London went to the state Capitol on Wednesday morning to back a bill that seeks more education funding. Senate Bill 1511 would raise the per-pupil allotment by over $960 plus add a boost for students with disabilities, and the students said their schools need fairer resources. CT Mirror
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ United Illuminating cut nearly $70 million in investments in its Connecticut service area after PURA denied most of its $100 million rate increase request last week—delaying planned upgrades such as substation improvements and clean energy projects. A spokesperson for Gov. Lamont criticized the move and a superior court dismissed most of UI's claims—adding to the controversy as UI considers a possible appeal. CT Mirror
