- ➤ Connecticut lawmakers are considering H.B. 5524 to ban polystyrene takeout containers and limit single-use plastics, a move that may take effect July 1, 2028 — the measure aims to reduce waste and boost local recycling and composting efforts as debates continue among industry groups.
