- ➤ Residents in Bristol, Southington, and Plainville have endured a disruptive hum from the ReWorld trash plant that affects sleep and health. Health officials and city leaders are working with the facility on a plan to ease the noise by year-end. WFSB-TV
- ➤ Vox Church reopens its new Hartford hub today at 129 Lafayette St. in a historic 1929 building and will hold services at 9 and 11 a.m. The church plans to invest $4 million into renovations and will offer community programs (school tutoring and addiction recovery). Connecticut Post

- ➤ Trinity Academy in Hartford held a Shark Tank — style invention workshop in December for young Latin students to boost STEM learning. - ➤ During a New Year’s Caribbean cruise, a West Hartford family experienced a severe flu outbreak that sickened 14 of 21 members, including a toddler who needed oxygen treatment; hundreds aboard also became ill. The family continues to recover and plans future celebrations on land. WFSB-TV

- ➤ Hartford’s workgroup will redevelop 20 city-owned vacant lots to create affordable homes for families earning up to 120% of the area median income.
