Take a Walk Back in Time through Suburban Park

Unionville, CT

Wednesday, November 11, 2026

12:00 -1:15 pm

Join Alan Perrie from the Burlington Land Trust on a 1.3 mile stroll through Suburban Park. The park was established in the late 1800s during the golden age of trolley parks. It was originally developed as a leisure retreat by the Farmington Street Railway Company to encourage weekend ridership. The park featured attractions such as a dance hall, picnic groves, a scenic lake with paddle boats, and a colorful electric fountain—making it a popular escape during warm summer months. We’ll explore the remnants of the park and look at photos of what it once was.
