Northern Middlesex YMCA to Break Ground on $22 Million “All Together Better” Capital Campaign MIDDLETOWN, CT – November 5, 2026 – The Northern Middlesex YMCA will celebrate the groundbreaking of its transformational All Together Better Capital Campaign on Wednesday, December 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the YMCA, located at 99 Union Street in Middletown.

The $22 million project represents a major investment in the future of the YMCA and the communities it serves. The renovations and expansion will modernize the historic Union Street facility, improve accessibility, expand youth and childcare spaces, enhance health and wellness programming.

“This groundbreaking represents an exciting new chapter for the Northern Middlesex YMCA and the entire community,” said Michele Rulnick, President and CEO. “We are building more than a facility. We are creating greater opportunities for individuals and families, strengthening our programs, and ensuring the YMCA remains a welcoming resource for generations to come.”

The All Together Better Capital Campaign has been made possible through the generous support of individual donors, foundations, corporations, federal and state funding, and community partners who share the vision of a stronger, more inclusive community.

The Northern Middlesex YMCA serves more than 12,600 individuals annually through membership, programs, camps and community outreach, reaching children, teens, adults, seniors, and families throughout Middlesex County.

The YMCA serves communities across Cromwell, Durham, East Hampton, Haddam, Middlefield, Middletown, and Portland, with a mission focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Community members, elected officials, donors, YMCA members, and community partners are invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, December 2, at 9:00 a.m.
