Record holiday travel is expected ahead of Christmas as nationwide airports are jammed and over one million drivers in CT are predicted to hit the road (the worst travel times occur Monday and Tuesday from 1pm to 7pm while the best times to travel are before 10am).

Last Saturday, holiday shoppers and travelers caused heavy gridlock near Westfarms and Corbins Corner in West Hartford.

Transportation firm INRIX warned that traveling (1 p.m. to 7 p.m.) over the next three days may lead to delays, urging drivers to take back roads and depart early.
