CTDOT started its Stuff-a-Bus Toy Drive Wednesday morning, and the drive will run through Sunday to collect toy donations from residents (helping those in need).

CT State Community College Capital’s Galería de Arte Mallett is hosting Biology with a (Spanish) Accent, an interactive exhibition featuring 31 photomicrographic prints that blend art and science with QR codes linking to short educational videos.
The exhibit runs until Dec. 15.
The Hartford venue formerly known as Xfinity Theatre has rebranded as The Meadows Music Theatre to revive its original name.
MGK + Riley Green will perform on June 6 and Aug. 14, 2026, with more events planned for the upcoming season.
Spamalot, the musical adaptation of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, is performing at The Bushnell this week.

University of Hartford's Hursey Center received the American Architecture Award on Dec.
10 for its dynamic design (featuring energy-efficient systems and community gathering spaces) that boosts campus programs. Opened in 2021, the 60,000 sqft center now hosts labs, makerspaces, and event areas for engineering and health professions.

Connecticut's two public pension systems showed gains, with the State Employees system growing over $2.3 billion and the Teachers system adding more than $1.6 billion, cutting unfunded liabilities from $19.2 billion to $17.6 billion, officials said.
Treasurer Erick Russell credited steady contributions + surplus deposits for the improved fiscal outlook.
