- ➤ Hartford City Councilman Alex Thomas misused a city-issued purchase card for personal gain during a conference in Washington DC with his family — a city report found he charged over $500 in unauthorized expenses and referred him to police and prosecutors for possible charges, while he also faces larceny charges for allegedly stealing more than $14,000 from a church and will learn on September 29 if his accelerated rehabilitation application is accepted.
