CRIME NEWS

  • A Hartford man named Luis Jiminez Flores died after a crash between a blue Yamaha YZ250 motorcycle—and a vehicle—on Maple Avenue Saturday night near 8:08 p.m., and police are investigating the collision.  FOX61

EDUCATION NEWS

  • University of Hartford began renovating Konover Campus Center into a modern dining spot featuring Connecticut’s best pizza, burgers, and wings—designed with student input for a vibrant gathering space. The project includes a new outdoor patio and pond and will be completed in summer 2026 while the west side remains open for campus events.  University of Hartford
  • Connecticut lawmakers and local advocates warned that rising import costs due to tariffs and the Big Beautiful Bill will leave kids with less food this school year, as free meal programs may shrink and teachers may pay more out of pocket.
