- ➤ Seven people were arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement while working at the Optimo Car Wash on Main Street in Newington on Saturday—police were not involved and officials are working to identify the detainees and determine any charges. WTNH News 8

- ➤ West Hartford local Ian D’Arcangelo and his band One Time Weekend played at Arch Street Tavern on Aug. 22, drawing a crowd of about 100 with high-voltage jams that sparked mosh pits & strong crowd energy. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ State funding for free school meals has ended so fewer students will receive free meals in the 2025-26 school year as new federal income guidelines tighten eligibility, officials said — families who do not meet the criteria will have to pay for meals.
