- ➤ State police and the state Department of Correction are investigating the death of an inmate found unresponsive in his cell at MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.—he was taken to a hospital and later died while the medical examiner will determine his cause. - ➤ Chris Brown will perform his Breezy Bowl XX Tour at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford on Saturday — the first event in 18 years — as Oak View Group warns of heavy traffic in the area. - ➤ After deadly fires destroyed homes in towns such as Hartford, Cheshire, Southington, Rocky Hill and Meriden, State Fire Marshal Lauri Volkert launched the Fire Safe CT initiative on Thursday to boost fire safety measures.
