  • Hartford Yard Goats are hosting their first Tacos, Tequila & Taps Festival at Dunkin' Park. Festivities began Thursday and continue today from 5-9 p.m. with two Grand Tasting Sessions scheduled for Saturday from 1-5 p.m. and 6-10 p.m.  FOX61

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Windsor-based SS&C Technologies announced on July 24th that it will acquire London-headquartered Calastone from The Carlyle Group for about $1 billion. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter and will expand SS&C's global funds network that connects more than 4,500 financial organizations.  Connecticut Post
  • The Better Business Bureau warned that a tractor scam is tricking buyers by using fake Facebook ads that lead customers to a fraudulent website listing tractors from Woodbury Tractor (according to a News 8 investigation). The scam pressures buyers to send wire transfers quickly (leaving hundreds affected), and the BBB has shared tips to help consumers verify a seller’s legitimacy.  WTNH News 8

  • The Notebook The Musical will perform in Hartford at the Bushnell Performing Arts Center from Sept. 30 to Oct. 5 as part of a North American tour that begins in Cleveland on Sept. 6 — tickets are on sale now with prices starting at $43.  Connecticut Post

EDUCATION NEWS

  • State officials and educators announced a new $300M Early Childhood Education Endowment at Trinity College on July 24th that will offer free childcare for families earning less than $100,000, with costs capped for others. State Treasurer Erick Russell said his office will invest the funds to expand childcare spots & boost workforce sustainability.  CT News Junkie

HEALTH NEWS

  • Connecticut has reported no measles cases since 2021 even as the nation saw a 363% rise in 2025 & public health officials credit high vaccination rates for the success. They noted that 97.7% of kindergartners got the MMR vaccine during the 2023–24 school year and said updated figures will be released in the fall.  CT News Junkie
