- ➤ On Sunday, about 700 runners and walkers participated in the Petit Family 5K Road Race in Plainville to honor the memory of Jennifer, Hayley, and Michaela Petit, whose lives were tragically lost last year in Cheshire. Dr. William Petit said the race—organized since 2008—has raised over $1.4 million for his foundation and helps keep their legacy alive. NBC Connecticut

- ➤ The left and center southbound lanes of Interstate 91 at exit 23 in Rocky Hill were closed after a vehicle collided with the guardrail and rolled down an embankment yesterday at 9:40 a.m.—state police reported all occupants left the vehicle with no injuries. WTNH News 8
- ➤ Firefighters responded to a blaze on the roof and attic area of a home on Linbrook Road on Sunday and extinguished the fire within about 15 minutes & two residents evacuated safely while the electrical system was disrupted. We-Ha

- ➤ ConnectiCon, the annual pop culture event, will take place in Hartford this weekend—featuring TV, film, and gaming exhibits. Organizers expect high turnout from local fans as they prepare for panels and special events. WFSB-TV
- ➤ Since 1655 the historic ferry between Glastonbury and Rocky Hill has carried cars and people across the Connecticut River—serving local commuters and sightseers with a four-minute ride. The ferry runs from April 1 to Nov. 30 with fares of $5 for vehicles and $2 for pedestrians, and a $600,000 upgrade to the landing sites is planned for the off season—underscoring its role in preserving local heritage. - ➤ On Sunday, volunteers from We Love You planted over 500 plants from 50 species at DePietro Park in East Hartford to start a pollinator garden for bees and birds. The garden features stone walkways and a garden in the shape of a heart — work that will aid local food growth and honor the park’s legacy. FOX61
- ➤ State officials said on Friday near Deep River that Diquat may be used to fight hydrilla—an invasive plant that has spread in the Connecticut River since 2016.
