Hartford Bonanza took over Bushnell Park yesterday as part of the Fourth of July celebration marking America’s 250th birthday — drawing thousands of visitors to the event.

On Friday evening, a bear died after being struck by a vehicle on I-84 East near exit 41 in West Hartford when a 30-year-old Waterbury driver collided with it after the animal ran from his left into the center lane and complained of numb fingers but refused treatment.
