- ➤ Abdul Mboob, charged in the 2023 murder of Anastasia Paul on July 17 in their Brooklyn Street apartment in Vernon, rejected a plea deal during his court appearance last Friday at Rockville Superior Court—setting the stage for a potential trial. NBC Connecticut

- ➤ Connecticut is nearing the fourth anniversary of recreational cannabis legalization on July 1 — recreational sales have grown while medical purchases have declined. - ➤ Federal ICE agents have increased arrests of immigrants at courthouses and public spaces in Connecticut, including several actions in Danbury. - ➤ Governor Lamont signed a bill on Tuesday that lets schools buy small, wearable silent panic alarms for teachers and staff to alert police during emergencies such as an active shooter — the alarms will be paid for with school security grants and gained strong support both in the legislature and at Staples High School in Westport.
