A 16-year-old local boy was charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, carrying a dangerous weapon and unlawful discharge of a firearm in connection with a May 20 shooting that killed 24-year-old Jordan Patterson near Irving and Woodland streets; he was extradited from Alabama and appeared in state Superior Court on Thursday.

Manchester police said a 16-year-old extradited from Alabama was charged with murder in connection to the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Jordan Patterson, who was found shot in his vehicle on May 20 near Irving Street and Woodland Street—he is set to be arraigned Thursday at Hartford Juvenile Detention.

Hartford’s Capitol Groove music festival returns to Bushnell Park for a two-day event featuring 14 bands.
