ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Hartford police confirmed they are investigating a deadly crash that happened Monday near Garden and Spring streets and have not released further details. WFSB-TV
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ John Marczak, 44, was hit by a car on South Main Street in West Hartford when he was found unresponsive just after 2 a.m. on June 7 and later died at the hospital on June 10—police arrested a 22-year-old Cromwell driver charged with evading responsibility and tampering with evidence. - ➤ Five people were shot in Hartford late Sunday night, and police are investigating when a driver drove through police tape into a restricted area. WFSB-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State attorneys general, including Connecticut's, signed a $7.4-billion settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family to resolve litigation over the opioid crisis. The agreement ends the Sacklers' control of Purdue and will distribute funds in planned payments over the next three years — with the first including $1.5 billion from the Sacklers and $900 million from Purdue.
