Federal documents show that defendants in a national nursing school scam were ordered to repay over $7M in kickbacks for recruiting students to pay for fake degrees that enabled 127 CT nurses to obtain fraudulent credentials+ the scam led to the issuance of over 7,500 fake diplomas nationwide and spurred CT officials to revoke or seek voluntary surrenders of 58 nursing licenses.

Gov. Ned Lamont celebrated new legislation on Tuesday at the State Capitol that will offer free child care by 2027 for families earning less than $100,000 and raise wages for day care and preschool teachers.

State commissioner Beth Bye said the plan uses a $300 million surplus that could grow to a billion—helping add 2,000 child care seats.

Gov. Ned Lamont and top Connecticut officials will travel to Paris from June 15th to 17th as part of a business recruitment mission to boost the state’s aerospace sector.

The agreement provides $5 million in FY 2026 + additional funds in FY 2027 and FY 2028 for community health centers.
