  • The two-day Hartford Taste festival is underway on Pratt and Trumbull streets as over 30 local vendors serve spices, sweets and music while proceeds support Connecticut Foodshare's efforts to combat a reported 11% rise in food insecurity — day two starts today at noon.  FOX61
  • A power outage caused by an underground equipment issue disrupted service for about 1,000 Eversource customers on Newbury Street last Friday morning+ crews restored power for 900 customers and continue repairing the remaining 105.  WTNH News 8

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • On June 5, House of Heroes and TRIUMPH volunteers transformed Army veteran Francis Berman's overgrown yard in West Hartford to help him return home after he left due to unsafe conditions. Berman received a folded American flag and display case during an outdoor ceremony (honoring his service) and his social worker will soon coordinate his move back once furnace repairs are complete.  We-Ha

SPORTS NEWS

  • Records were broken at the divisional meets and more may fall today at the CIAC State Open track and field championships held at Willow Brook Park in New Britain. The meet starts at 11 a.m. (for field events) and 11:30 a.m. (for track events) as teams like Bloomfield and Windsor aim to defend their titles.  Connecticut Post
  • Donovan Clingan—a Connecticut native and former UConn champion with the Portland Trail Blazers—improved his game this season by boosting his rebounding and shot-blocking numbers, and coach Ryan Gomes said Clingan will work to improve his offense and conditioning next season to become a cornerstone for the team. Clingan is expected to play more minutes and may earn a spot in the Rising Stars game as he builds on his progress.  Connecticut Post
