CRIME NEWS

  • Police arrived at about 10:33 a.m. on the I-84 westbound Exit 47 off-ramp in Hartford after a ShotSpotter activation and closed the ramp while they investigated, with no injuries reported.  WFSB-TV
  • New Britain High School was placed on lockdown today after a suspicious person approached the building with a bladed weapon (security stopped the suspect before they could enter) and police later arrested the individual.  WFSB-TV
  • Clyde Gibson, Jr.—43 from Hartford—pleaded guilty to tax fraud after he prepared 135 fraudulent tax returns from 2016 to 2022 that cost the IRS $125,000 and must now pay back the money.  FOX61

HEALTH NEWS

  • Neighborhood Health in Hartford drives a refurbished ambulance to treat unhoused patients and recently helped a man walk with new prosthetic legs. With rising cases and more complex issues among older individuals on the streets, providers have asked state lawmakers for $33.5 million to improve care and shelter access.  CT Mirror
