  • A groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday marked the launch of the new Barbour Library at the former Snyder Supermarket lot less than a block from the current site. Construction will begin this summer and the building will feature rooms for kids, teens, computer use, technology labs, adult education and a food pantry.  WTNH News 8

  • The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History is hosting the 'Rebellious' exhibit through Nov. 1 that spotlights art inspired by local heritage. Hartford residents can explore the display to see fresh perspectives on cultural narratives.  NBC Connecticut

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Connecticut have jumped due to supply disruptions from conflict, prompting fuel marketers to call for a review of the fuel tax system. Since late March, a tax cap has limited the wholesale tax and saved drivers one nickel per gallon when prices exceed $3.  CT Mirror
  • Eversource announced Wednesday that it is seeking a double-digit increase in electric rates for the first time in nearly 10 years and that the change could affect customer bills moving forward.  NBC Connecticut

  • Libraries face delays in restocking new books after the nation’s largest distributor shut down earlier this year. Local libraries are now exploring other suppliers & adjusting orders to keep shelves filled for readers.  Connecticut Public
  • The Charter Oak Boxing Academy teaches discipline, builds confidence, and instills life skills for Hartford residents. The academy offers regular training sessions + supports growth inside and outside the ring.  FOX61
