- ➤ The West Hartford Fire Department extinguished a balcony fire at Bishops Place Apartments on Albany Avenue Saturday night, responding at 8:59 p.m. after a call reported flames at 8:57 p.m. (damage was limited to the building's exterior) and no injuries occurred (residents were unharmed). We-Ha
- ➤ On Saturday night, emergency crews—responding to a neighbor's report—arrived at Bishops Place Apartments in West Hartford at 8:57 p.m. and quickly put out a third-floor balcony fire that caused only external damage with no injuries reported—officials continue investigating the cause. WFSB-TV

- ➤ Marie Kirkley-Bey, the first woman of color to be appointed Deputy Majority Leader of the Connecticut House, passed away after decades of service that included her role as Deputy Speaker—she was known for her work on local issues.
