BUSINESS NEWS

  • General Dynamics Electric Boat workers are threatening a strike beginning at midnight today if their demands for better wages, retirement security, cost-of-living adjustments & respect on the job are not met. Union Local 571 said that up to 2,400 employees may strike and nearly 2,000 are set for picket duty after the company posted over $13 billion in profits and held a pre-strike rally on Friday with support from local politicians.  News 12 Connecticut

  • On May 15, hundreds of kindergarten through 12 students and college job seekers attended the Manufacturer ConneCTion Fair at the state Capitol in Hartford—where over 30 manufacturers showcased career opportunities.
