ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A garage fire in Hartford spread to a house and shed on Tuesday evening—displacing two residents and injuring two firefighters with minor burns as fire crews arrived around 5:30 p.m. on Newington Avenue and quickly controlled the blaze while one person was treated for smoke inhalation.  FOX61

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State regulators approved a rate adjustment that will lower electric bills by about $13 monthly for Eversource customers and $3 for United Illuminating customers, with rates effective May 1 and subject to further changes by September. The decision follows improved terms from nuclear power agreements—customers’ final savings will vary based on usage.  CT Mirror
  • Advocates, service providers, and community leaders met Tuesday at the Legislative Office Building to mark Sexual Assault Awareness Month — urging lawmakers to boost resources for survivors.
