Hartford police responded to a Tuesday report of shots fired on Vine Street near Greenfield Street—finding 50-year-old Michael Coleman with a fatal stomach wound and noting that authorities are searching for the suspect who fled in a black vehicle toward Albany Avenue.

Israel Mendoza, a Reading man, was sentenced to 7 years in federal prison plus 3 years of supervised release for trafficking cocaine and heroin into Connecticut—he was linked to a Hartford-area narcotics network investigated since 2018 and was arrested in California in 2023.
