- ➤ University of Hartford will hold its 2026 commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 17 at PeoplesBank Arena downtown. - ➤ West Hartford Public Works will begin bi-weekly spring yard waste collection the week of April 13 with curbside pickup that matches recycling days, while Saturday hours resume April 11 at the Yard Waste and Recycling Center for residents. The service will run through the end of October. We-Ha
- ➤ Christina Ghio was endorsed as the state child advocate by the House on Wednesday with a vote of 97–42 that exposed divisions over a home-schooling oversight bill, and her record of holding DCF accountable comes amid complaints that her testimony focused more on home schooling than on DCF reform.
