  • Hartford Prints is hosting a heated rivalry look-alike and loon calling contest on Saturday, Mar. 28 — participants can dress as Connor Storie or Hudson Williams and register by 3:45 p.m. for a chance to win hockey tickets or a $25 gift card.  FOX61

ECONOMY NEWS

  • In 2025, Connecticut residents paid an average of $2,485 for electricity—a 3.8% rise from 2024—and the state ranked second in the nation for high electric bills. Data is preliminary from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.  CT Mirror

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At a meeting Tuesday, the Hartford Public Schools board said rising special education costs led to a funding shortfall — they are now pushing for increased support to close the gap.  WFSB-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • UConn’s first-round NCAA Tournament game against Furman kicked off late Friday at 10 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia as the Huskies tried to rebound from their Big East Tournament loss.  WFSB-TV
  • The Hall High School boys hockey team won the CIAC Division III State Championship with a dramatic 2-1 overtime win over E.O. Smith-Tolland on March 19 at Quinnipiac University’s M and T Bank Arena (the winning goal came 1:13 into overtime).  We-Ha
  • During spring break at campus, UConn students are buzzing as the men's and women's teams use the NCAA Tournament to chase another championship run, and fans hope victories raise pride and spark campus celebrations if they advance.  FOX61
