  • Gov. Lamont activated Connecticut’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol today ahead of Blizzard Calvin — state agencies coordinate with 2-1-1 to provide shelter and warmth until Feb. 24.  WFSB-TV
  • Governor Lamont urged residents to prepare for blizzard conditions starting tonight and continuing into Monday, with forecasts of 10 to 22 inches of snow and wind gusts above 50 mph; the state’s Emergency Operations Center in Hartford will partially activate at 5 p.m. to coordinate responses.  CT News Junkie
  • CDOT said Shore Line East will use older diesel locomotives instead of the promised electric M8 trains — a move to cut costs and reassign the new equipment to Metro-North.
