- ➤ UConn women remained unbeaten at 23-0 after defeating Tennessee 96-66 in Hartford at PeoplesBank Arena on Feb. 1 (they earned all 31 first-place votes) and will begin an eight-game Big East schedule on Wednesday. Connecticut Post
- ➤ UConn extended its win streak to 17 games with an 85-58 win over Creighton last weekend, boosting its record to 21-1 while chasing unbeaten Arizona. The Huskies will face Xavier in Hartford at PeoplesBank Arena at 7 p.m. today (game broadcast on Peacock and NBC Sports Network). WFSB-TV
- ➤ Max Naumov, a native of Simsbury, triumphed at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships as his hometown rallied behind him after a personal loss, and he is headed to Milan for the Olympics. Connecticut Post
- ➤ The Hartford Yard Goats announced they will use the Rock Cats name for two May games against the Altoona Curve, marking the first time since their New Britain days.
